I want to thank all of you who have posted messages to my blog. Reading them offers some much needed relief because these last few days have been HECTIC! The students (all 702) have boarded the ship and let's say it has gotten lively ever since they been on board. I have adapted to my new job responsibilities well I must say, especially since I only got 4 days of training to head a office, on a ships, helping a total of 1,004 people. Right now I am making copies crossing the vast ocean and loving every minute of it but Ms. Two is tired! I had a really interesting moment today. As I was waiting in line at the Purser's (reception) desk of the ship guess who I should run into but Archbishop Desmond Tutu. He smiled and said "hello" in the most quiet and gentle way. He asked how I was doing and then put his hand up, palm facing me. Mind you I didn't bring a cultural etiquette book with me, so, I wasn't sure what I should do. I then raised my hand up, my palm facing him, and slowly brought it to his hand. He smiled and then walked away. I was afraid after he left I had done something inappropriate, was I suppose to touch him? I thought the Deans were going to call me into their office and dump me in the next country we port (Puerto Rico). Later on I found out he was giving me a high 5! I will have pictures I promise. I just have been too busy to think straight. Besides you will have pictures from Puerto Rico too. I miss all of you! Don't forget to write. If you need the address of the ports I will be visiting. Just go to www.semesteratsea.com, click on "Voyages" link, Spring 07, and then "Communication." If I'm wrong then don't be lazy, search for it a little. I think I'm worth that much. Oh Lynda, we have these close circuit TVs on the ship and they play all the 80s music . . . SAS and me were meant, the 80s music proves it!

WHAT! You dissed the Archbishop!?!?!! MY pal, the Archbishop??? My chum Dessie, the Archbishop??? I'm outraged and disgusted at your behaviour, young lassie! When you insult Des, you insult me, and I won't stand for that! In the words of the politically hard-biting 1987 tune by that ultra-satirical extremist songster, Denise LaSalle, "Don't mess with my Tutu"! (I hereby defy all your fellow blog responders as well as yourself to come up with a worse, and more contrived joke than that in the duration of your voyage).

"who I should run into but Archbishop Desmond Tutu". Again, my dear, I absolutely hate name-droppers. I was saying just how much I hate name-dropping with my dear friend Nelson Mandela, and he agreed. He thusly promised never to mention me in company ever again.
Seriously though Shayla, I'm still really excited for you. We've talked about this moment for years now, and finally it's all reality. Good things come to good people, and you deserve the best. You mentioned earlier that you had become a bit of a "hottie" in Nassau, am I correct? Well I'm not surprised, and maybe this trip'll let you see the inner AND outer beauty that some of us have always known you have in abundance (except for mornings, that is ;o) ). Most folk will know what I mean by that.
Look forward to your next entry, my wee friend.
p.s. If it makes you even happier, the night temperatures here in Glasgow are reaching -4 degrees, and as a result, my dark green car is a lovely shade of white in the mornings.
HI SHAYLA!
This is my 3rd time trying to post because I'm a little slow at figuring things out so I hope you get this. Anyway, I'm SO SAD that I missed your call! Not sure how that happened cause I keep the stupid phone on my hip. But you sound happy and I'm SO excited for you! I enjoyed reading your comments and can't wait for more, especially about the hot Boriquen men in P.R.! ;-) I'll write soon. Hugs, M.
Hey Mama...
I am so happy to hear that your trip is going well. WOW! Shayla, I am sitting here crying as I read your blogs. I am so happy for you. Continue to take it all in...you deserve it. How was Puerto Rico? The boys? Oh...and it's kinda nice being the hottie, huh?
